Get out the time machine, Raphael Saadiq is back with his new rock-infused LP, Stone Rollin’. As you’ll see, he’s remained faithful to the retro soulful roots that caught our attention in his 2008 hit album, The Way I See It. The old-school inspirations have always been there for this music veteran who started as member and founder of Tony! Toni! Toné about 20 years ago. He started from a more R&B-inspired style with delicious Stevie Wonder-esque tracks like “Still Ray” on his first album as Raphael Saadiq in 2002. And now, a well-rounded artist to a T, Raphael has created a vintage gem with his single, “Good Man.”

Life is good…when you’re hydrated that is.
As summer allegedly approaches (DAMN the threats of rain and
inconsistent sunshine!) and things get heated up, our bodies will tend
to sweat more often, naturally, considering the hot summer months.
With this in mind, know that if not given the right nutrients and
enough liquids, you could definitely become a candidate for

The status quo says that we must win at all cost. Society suggests that in order to be considered successful you have to be on top or in front of everyone else. Just because these are popular notions of progression, it does not mean we have to personally live by them. Our aspirations should be individually based. The ultimate goal is to self-improve. If you are better than you were previously, you are truly moving in the right direction. Today, make it your mission to better than you were yesterday. Have a great day! Essentially Essence.
Scarfing food down like a starving mutt can make you one pudgy pooch: Men who eat faster put on extra pounds over time, a new Japanese study reports.
The study followed nearly 530 men over 8 years. Even among guys with the same starting body mass index, men who reported at the beginning of the study that they were fast eaters gained the most weight over time. Fast eaters gained an average of 4.2 pounds during the study, while slow eaters gained only 1.5 pounds.
Beware the yawn, men—it could be a more troubling sign than you think.
Twenty-five percent of couples claim they feel bored in their current relationship, according to a study by Good In Bed research, with another 25 percent “on the brink of becoming bored.” Worse, relationship ennui applied most strongly to women, with 17.2 percent feeling bored three or more times per week compared to 10 percent of guys.
“Routine, familiarity, predictability—these things work against the spontaneity that often fuels attraction and excitement,” says Ian Kerner, Ph.D., author of the best-selling She Comes First, who led the study. “Even a sense of comfort leads to boredom. New experiences, however, stimulate dopamine transmission, a neurotransmitter that plays a big role in sexual excitement.”

On a daily basis we are pushed to be logical, we are guided to make
decisions based on risk calculations. If the risk is too great or if we have
too much to lose then our desires and our dreams can be devoured by doubt.
Sometimes we forget that the best possible outcome can be had by following
your heart. Take a leap of faith today. It’s not silly, it’s not soft nor is it
cliché. Take a moment to listen to what your heart is telling you to do and
then GO FOR IT! Have a Magnificent Monday. Essentially Essence.

If your house was burning, what would you take with you? It’s a conflict between what’s practical, valuable and sentimental. What you would take reflects your interests, background and priorities. Think of it as an interview condensed into one question. Check out a few belongings people have organized through photography.
Today’s Trend Report will focus on adding character to your Ensemble with “Big Brimmed Hats”
As your fashion advisor, I must admit that I love cheeky accessories like bows, skinny ties, bright jewelry and hand gloves to name a few and right now I’m going bananas for this Springs new trend “Big Brimmed Hats”. This statement is filled with enough character to finalize any ensemble adding a dose of vintage glam to your daily outfits!
While I am a huge fan of the latest trends we must first pay attention to the woman that were daring enough to make this look work in the late ’60s and early ’70s! Fashion Icons like Anita Pallenberg, Marianne Faithfull and Bianca Jagger were the divas who took these oversized floppies and made them come to life. This is a look definitely worth emulating!
If you have a goal, it doesn’t matter what anyone else may think of that
goal. Ignore the naysayers because they are ultimately irrelevant to your
mission. What is important is that you push through the doubt (from self and
others) and give 100% unyielding effort. Adjust your life to include
positive people and adjust your mentality so that in your reality nothing
can possibly stop what you perceive as possible. Today take advantage of the
possibilities! Essentially Essence!

Check out a few looks of the Fall/Winter Alexander McQueen collection.
Lebron James is 6’9 and weighs 275 pounds with rare gifted athletic ability . For his size and weight he would be a nightmare on the field just as he is on the court. If Lebron James were to switch sports, his NFL success would possibly exceed his NBA success making him one of the greatest athletes ever.
Lebron would join the company of Jim Brown and Bo Jackson who are hall of famers in their respective sports. If Lebron was to play quarterback he would have multiple advantages. First would be his size making it easier to look over the offense and defense of linemen, also enabling him to elude different defenders by breaking tackles , second would be his vision already a great passer and floor general his vision would help him find different receivers on the field. Third would be speed favoring him to out run defenders and extend plays similar to Michael Vick.
You can also place James at wide receiver which would be an automatic mismatch for undersize defenders. Its simple, just throw the ball up.

We encounter daily experiences, patterns and relationships which reveal a great deal about who we are as interacting humans. Socio- economic and societal issues play a factor in the development of brains and ultimately, the behavior. Disadvantaged children clearly do not benefit from their place in society. Scientists, however, believe they have found one solution that can hopefully equate the growth of such children with normal but not necessarily affluent kids. Through creative enhancing techniques such as dance or movement, drawing and music, all children, underprivileged children especially, can advance their development.
When it comes to beauty products, the effects of the ingredients they contain are more than just skin deep.
In fact, shampoos, makeup, lotions, perfumes and other cosmetics for sale today can contain ingredients linked to breast cancer, infertility, birth defects and other serious health problems.
Just pick up any bottle of shampoo, facial cream, body lotion or any other beauty products and you’re likely to find an incredibly long list of synthetic chemicals — many of them even toxic and cancer causing. These chemicals enter our bodies – through ingestion (toothpaste, lipstick), skin absorption (lotions, deodorant, makeup) and even inhalation (perfumes, fumes, etc..). Multiply this seemingly small amount by the number of products you use throughout the day, on a daily basis, and over your entire lifetime and you will see how your body is bound to accumulate these toxins over time. The following chemicals are very often found in cosmetic and personal care products:
