"It's not about the change, it's about the change"

TREND REPORT BY JINA @GGMURAYOSHI

Today’s Trend Report will focus on adding character to your Ensemble with “Big Brimmed Hats”

As your fashion advisor, I must admit that I love cheeky accessories like bows, skinny ties, bright jewelry and hand gloves to name a few and right now I’m going bananas for this Springs new trend “Big Brimmed Hats”. This statement is filled with enough character to finalize any ensemble adding a dose of vintage glam to your daily outfits!

While I am a huge fan of the latest trends we must first pay attention to the woman that were daring enough to make this look work in the late ’60s and early ’70s! Fashion Icons like Anita Pallenberg, Marianne Faithfull and Bianca Jagger were the divas who took these oversized floppies and made them come to life. This is a look definitely worth emulating!

The only difference between now and then is that the original muses used their accessories to accent their big fur coats and brocade bell bottoms, where as today were opting to pair this look with a more streamlined and neutral pieces, As seen in Just Cavalli’s and Missoni’s S/S collection! This trend goes well with a previous report of mines inspired by the ’70s “Flare Jeans”. “Big Brimmed Hats” is more so a daring trend to some, the way you style this key piece is paramount! Since this eye catching look is already a statement in itself, opt for the more refined ensemble instead of the over the top runway look! If your ready to take on the look and frame your face with a “Big Brimmed hat” below is a selection of excellent pieces to choose from!
