"It's not about the change, it's about the change"

TREND REPORT BY JINA GG MURAYOSHI

Today’s Trend Report will offer a “Cheat Sheet” for this S/S most important trends for 2011!

Hello My fashion tweakers! When Choosing your look for any occasion it is vital to look effortless, classic and universally appealing! So this week I have decided to put together a “Cheat Sheet” for my readers on some of the items I featured in the past, along with a few new items that includes the must have trends for this season!

“Tiny Pleats”

When shopping for dresses and skirts this season, I highly suggest investing in at least one pleated piece! Im crazy about this look especially in a delicate shade of blush. This is also a more ’70s inspired look which goes very well with a skinny belt and a high pump ! Note: make sure you go for something wide small pleats (accordion) to get the most “of the moment look”!

“DownTown Lady”

Last season, the lady-like trend (Pretty & Prim) included full skirts and polished beauty looks, this time around fashion trendsetters aimed for a more youthful vibe. For example, Designer Stuart Vevers updated a classic sheath dress by adding details with tiny embroidered leather flowers and styling it with sharp pumps and a leather headband to bring the look alive. It’s luxe but tough! All in all this look is very cool and is already turning up in your favorite stores fashion displays so start pulling similar pieces now to achieve this look today.

“Rainbow Brights”

As I have mentioned before this trend is by far one of the boldest of S/S 2011. From shirts and shoes to “Vibrant Lips” and Bright handbags, Color is the new black this season! So when shopping for your closest or an upcoming event take a risk and stand out with an orange or bright yellow pant with a fluro pink shirt or exciting green jacket to give the look a boost of energy and spark! Note: Keep it simple and add a bright shoe or handbag to make your outfit pop!

“Skinny Belts”

If your looking for a new accent piece to freshen up your wardrobe essentials why not go for the “Skinny Belt”! A neon color will add the perfect pop of color to your favorite neutral or white pieces, in turn giving the outfit life! You can never go wrong with your standard colors (blk, brown and tan) which are essential in every fashion lover’s closet! This would look amazing with a maxi dress or high waste trouser pants! Make sure you have at least one “Skinny Belt” in your wardrobe ladies!
