*HEALTH* BYE BYE BELLY FAT

Did you know that besides doing wonders for your health, a certain nutrient group might also help you get rid of belly fat and keep your pants size in check?

It’s true. Flavonoids — those antioxidant-like compounds found in fruits, veggies, chocolate, tea, and wine — seemed to help ward off belly fat in a 14-year study.

Multitasking Flavonoids
Specifically, catechins, flavonols, and flavones — types of flavonoids — may help curb belly bulge by improving the body’s metabolic profile, the researchers noted. So where can you get your fair share? The study participants got most of theirs from pears, apples, tea, chocolate, broad beans, onions, leeks, and sweet peppers. Pretty tasty choices. Try adding some to the menu tonight with these EatingWell recipes that are not only delicious, but will help you get rid of belly fat:

Low-Cal Delights
Interestingly, only the women in the study experienced a waistline benefit from flavonoids. But because flavonoid-rich foods like fruits and veggies are often low in calories, they’re still a smart choice for anyone who is weight conscious.

HOW MUCH PROTEIN DO YOU REALLY NEED?

Guess how much protein is in a juicy, 8-ounce cheeseburger washed down with a milkshake? This single meal contains two to three times as much as most people need per day.

It’s no great surprise that Americans chow down on a lot of protein. We love beef and consume about 67 pounds per capita annually (that’s four times the international average). The popularity of low-carb regimes such as Atkins has also made meat the go-to food for dieters.

In fact, the average person eats about double the amount of protein that their body requires, according to the results of 2007-2008 National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey conducted by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

CHRISTIAN LOUBOUTIN LOSES TO YSL IN BATTLE OVER RED BOTTOMS

A fight by Christian Louboutin for the exclusive right to put red soles on shoes got kicked out of court Wednesday in a victory for rival Yves Saint Laurent.

The legal battle in a New York court pitted two fashion leaders in a bitter contest for what Louboutin said was the soul of its extravagantly expensive shoes — the signature scarlet outsole.

In federal court, US District Judge Victor Marrero ruled that Louboutin — even if widely recognized for its trailblazing use of red under the shoe — could not stop competitors like YSL from doing the same thing.

DRAKE’S OVO FESTIVAL (TORONTO) FT * RICK ROSS * THE WEEKND *

Over the weekend I had a chance to visit Toronto , Canada to attend Drake’s 2nd annual hometown OVO festival . I had the opportunity to take photos at the concert that featured Rick Ross and The Weeknd The crowd enhanced my experience as they took the concert to another level with tons of energy through out the whole night. The artist performed hit after hit while moving the audience all night. Drake surprised the crowd by bringing out J.Cole as they performed their collaborative hit “In the Morning”. Moments later Nas hit the stage and performed classic hits “If I Ruled The World” and ” Nas Is Like”. Drake continued hit after and hit and surprised the crowd again by introducing Lil Wayne as they performed various tracks together.
