Are You Full? Per Johansen’s Stuffed Food Series

Per Johansen has created this food pictorial symbolizing overconsumption in our society. The project is called “MET” and consists of meat, veggies, fish and various other edibles forcefully shoved into plastic containers. Johansen set out to create an ascetically pleasing picture that would draw the eye to a harmony of color but then disrupt the energy with a social message.

*HEALTH* MYSTERIOUS AIDS – LIKE DISEASE

(AP) Researchers have identified a mysterious new disease that has left scores of people in Asia and some in the United States with AIDS-like symptoms even though they are not infected with HIV.

The patients’ immune systems become damaged, leaving them unable to fend off germs as healthy people do. What triggers this isn’t known, but the disease does not seem to be contagious.

This is another kind of acquired immune deficiency that is not inherited and occurs in adults, but doesn’t spread the way AIDS does through a virus, said Dr. Sarah Browne, a scientist at the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases.

She helped lead the study with researchers in Thailand and Taiwan, where most of the cases have been found since 2004. Their report is in Thursday’s New England Journal of Medicine.

To fear is to be human.  But fear should not have any control over your actions (or lack thereof).  Remind yourself that the power you have to succeed is far greater than any obstacle or fear! If you need additional assistance read Pick The Brain’s tool for 7 ways to overcome your fears. http://www.pickthebrain.com/blog/overcome-fear-of-failure/

Don’t let fears inhibit your success, let success inhibit your fears!

Have an astounding Tuesday.

Phylicia Rashad’s letter to her 21-year-old self:

Dear Phylicia,

Romantic involvement distracts you and can blind you to what’s really in front of you. And what really is in front of you? You are. You don’t even know yourself yet. You think you know and you want to assert that you do, now that you’re a certain age, but you don’t. What’s in front of you is a whole world of experiences beyond your imagination. Put yourself, and your growth and development, first. There are long-term repercussions to what you’re doing now. Everything you do, every thought you have, every word you say creates a memory that you will hold in your body. It’s imprinted on you and affects you in subtle ways—ways you are not always aware of. With that in mind, be very conscious and selective.

With high hopes for you,
Phylicia
