TREND REPORT BY JINA MURAYOSHI – RICH HARLOTS BY ISATTA HADIYAH
Standing out in a crowd is way better than blending in, So today’s Trend Report will feature “Rich Harlots” . Eye Popping, Hand-crafted Earrings made exclusively by Isatta Hadiyah.
Isatta Hadiyah grew up in Philadelphia, Pa where she always had a passion for fashion. Growing up in her teenage years she discovered the craft of making unique pieces of jewelry and at a very young age found her niche, making one of a kind pieces that can express her gift of creativity with her “Showstopping Earrings”. Isatta would sell her hand-crafted pieces in High School and College with the use of hearsay as well as Myspace and even soliciting at various salons in the city. Isatta studied fine art at West Chester and have also taken courses for Fashion Design at the Art Institute of Philadelphia. A few months back she wore a pair of Geometric Shaped Earrings and got so many compliments and requests for cards that she then decided to pursue her dream fulltime and put her talent to work.
TREND REPORT BY JINA GG MURAYOSHI – RACHEL ZOE
Today’s Trend Report will focus on one of my favorite Stylist, Someone I am deeply inspired by, The fabulous ”Rachel Zoe“
When I think of Fashion, I think of impeccable taste, silhouettes, great designers and most of all “Rachel Zoe”. This star stylist is so amazing for many reasons – her additive TV show, her darling newsletter and an upcoming clothing line that she has in the works to name a few. I first fell in love with Zoe a few years back while watching her TV show (The Rachel Zoe Project), where I was inspired by her enthusiatic attitude and passion for fashion.
Although Zoe works with high-profile clients and has a very notable fashion sense, she does not have any formal fashion training. Zoe went freelance, giving her the opportunity to meet and work with some high-profile clients. As a stylist, she has worked with Brenda Song, Lindsay Lohan, Mischa Barton, Mario Orejel, Nicole Richie, and Keira Knightley. Zoe’s current client list includes Cameron Diaz, Jennifer Garner, Kate Hudson, Kate Beckinsale, Debra Messing, Demi Moore, Liv Tyler, Joy Bryant, Molly Sims, Beau Garett, Eva Mendes, Paula Patton and Anne Hathaway. Zoe, with the help of reality TV star Nicole Richie, became the pioneer of the ‘boho chic’ look. This look consists of oversized jewelry, loose-fitting dresses and shirts, paired with a slim frame.
TREND REPORT – PHILLIP LIM – BY JINA GG MURAYOSHI
Today’s Trend Report will focus on one of the top Designers in Womanswear…”Phillip Lim”
As a woman, I am a fan of incredibly flattering, perfectly executed pieces that can enhance a woman’s body type and give her that extra boost of confidence that’s needed from time to time. With this in mind I chose to feature one of my favorite designers “Phillip Lim”
Phillip Lim is a Cambodian-American fashion designer of Chinese ancestry. He was awarded “Council Fashion Designers of America” of emerging talent in Womanswear as a creative director of 3.1 Phillip Lim. Lim is represented in 45 countries and is available at nearly 400 boutiques and department stores worldwide.
TREND REPORT BY JINA GG MURAYOSHI – TRIBAL NECKLACES
As a fashion junkie, I’ve noticed over the past few months people have been focused on earrings! Especially the shoulder grazing kind, as you might have read in a recent post of mines on Cascading earrings and Do It Yourself activities, but that’s not the only trend out here to complete a minimalist silhouette. That’s why I chose this week to focus on a new option for my readers to spice up any ensemble with: “The Tribal Necklace”
This accessory is essential for spring’s floaty, flirty maxi’s, bold colored tops and adding life to more streamlined silhouettes. This trend can also be referred to as a “Bib Necklace” with a combination of mixed metals and geometric shapes. This trend is a mix of raw, totemic energy with a level of sophisticaion resulting in an exciting modern look!
TREND REPORT – EARNING YOUR STRIPES – JINA GG MURAYOSHI
One of the best parts about this time of the year is the endless stream of Bold Colors! Much like polka dots and plaids, Classic strips are a thing of endless beauty. And while my closet may be full of black and white, navys, and neutrals, right now I’ve been having brighter strips on my mind, specifically the cheerful bubblegum styles shown on some of my favorite spring runways. From a cheeky red and blue skirt at Fendi to a sporty chic shirt at Celine, this is definitely a bold trend that my fellow fashion lovers can easily adapt to!

Today’s Trend Report will offer a “Cheat Sheet” for this S/S most important trends for 2011!
Hello My fashion tweakers! When Choosing your look for any occasion it is vital to look effortless, classic and universally appealing! So this week I have decided to put together a “Cheat Sheet” for my readers on some of the items I featured in the past, along with a few new items that includes the must have trends for this season!
TREND REPORT BY JINA @GGMURAYOSHI
Today’s Trend Report will focus on adding character to your Ensemble with “Big Brimmed Hats”
As your fashion advisor, I must admit that I love cheeky accessories like bows, skinny ties, bright jewelry and hand gloves to name a few and right now I’m going bananas for this Springs new trend “Big Brimmed Hats”. This statement is filled with enough character to finalize any ensemble adding a dose of vintage glam to your daily outfits!
While I am a huge fan of the latest trends we must first pay attention to the woman that were daring enough to make this look work in the late ’60s and early ’70s! Fashion Icons like Anita Pallenberg, Marianne Faithfull and Bianca Jagger were the divas who took these oversized floppies and made them come to life. This is a look definitely worth emulating!

Today’s Trend Report will focus on effortlessly achieving the Must-try Trend “Vibrant Lips”
As Fashion Junkies, We understand the recent rainbow-bright trends this spring can be a bit intimidating and over the top to many people. While banana yellow trousers and lemon-lime frocks may be suitable for fashion insiders and daring fashionista’s, not everyone is ready or willing to commit to so much color. For this very reason I was thrilled to share my favorite beauty trend that any woman can take and make it her very own with “Vibrant Lips”. This offers an effortlessly way to wear some of Spring’s high impact shades like Shocking Pink pouts and bright Coral lips as seen in Marc by Marc Jacobs and Diane Von Furstenberg’s S/S 2011 collection.

Today’s Trend Report will focus on achieving the new look inspired by the ’70s with “Flare Jeans”
As you may have already heard a hundred times in fashion news this spring, this season is all about the ’70s!
The Key thing to keep in mind when wearing flares is that we must refrain from channeling the ’70s too literally,
for example it may not be a good idea to pair a peasant top with this new trend. The look we do want is to pair a mid rise flare jean with a tucked in cardigan or polished blazer which gives off a prim look! Or you can also follow Harper’s Bazaar’s Senior fashion editor Joanna Hillman and wear your flares with an oversized button up jacket, add an electric blue patent purse to give off a modern look. With these inspirational looks, hopefully your ready to trade into your skinnies and be daring and try out a pair of 70-styled jeans! To help my fellow risk takers accomplish this look, below are a list of designers that have incorporated this look into their S/S collection.
TREND REPORT – TASSELS – JINA MURAYOSHI
Today’s Trend Report will focus on this Season’s most important fashion accents… “Tassels”
While we may associate tassels with furniture trimmings and graduation caps, these slinky ornaments are swiftly becoming the “IT” piece to add to your wardrobe this Summer. Top designers like Gucci, Sonia Rykiel and Louis Vuitton have added these flirty, decorative embellishments to their S/S 2011 collection with Trendsetters like Blake Lively, Giovanna Battaglia and Gwyneth Paltrow bringing a playful energy to their wardrobe basics. What’s not to love about this new trend? Not only are tassels incredibly versatile, they can be worn as earrings, dangle from your favorite handbag or add spice by lacing up your shoes. And what’s even more exciting to us fashion lovers is that you can find them in array of exciting colors from neon hues to warm neutral tones making it easy to incorporate this trend into your everyday style. One thing I like most about this trend is that a little goes a long way! Even the smallest tassel on your shoes is usually what’s needed to give your look a visually intriguing finish. Another way to incorporate tassels into your look is with fun jewelry. Whether they are dangling from a necklace or hanging from your ears, a simple pop of color is eye catching making it a clear focal point on any outfit. Also Look out for neat belts with tassels to give your spring basics an updated look. It’s always fun trying new trends and I encourage all my readers to go and purchase this season’s “It” piece to add to your wardrobe where you too can be a trendsetter this Spring and Summer!

Trend Report by GG Murayoshi
Today’s Trend Report will focus on channeling your inner creative ability to get this inspired featured look for less!
While us fashion lovers enjoy the season’s ultra-feminine and ladylike looks, every now and then our inner bad girl craves something with an edgy twist. And while we can achieve this look by pairing swirly babydoll frocks and combat boots or a pretty blouse and slim leather pants – Nothing reflects that tough-girl spirit like an insanely cool studded trench coat! It’s slightly dangerous, a little bit punk rock, and very chic all at the same time…It’s a must-have piece for your wardrobe this spring. In the snapshot below you can create your very own look in today’s edition of “Do it Yourself” with Erica Domesek
The inspiration behind this amazing challenge is the super sleek trench coat from Burberry Prorsum’s Spring/Summer 2011 collection which retails at $7,995 which is featured below in today’s DIY. The resulting piece has a luxuriously edgy look that is versatile and can be styled with a rugged ensemble or juxtaposed against a slinky, ultra bright frock!
Ingredients
-H&M Trench Coat ($60)
-Approximately 400 chopsticks or candy apple sticks
-Handsaw
-Gold spray paint
-Chalk
-Glue Gun
Before you begin: if you’re particularly good with a handsaw or know someone with a power table saw, proceed with Step 1. For those of you who don’t have those tools handy, you can make an alternative version of this trench by purchasing and using gold studs instead. If you choose to do the latter, please refer to the second set of instructions and note that this project will get a bit pricier.
1. Cut down chopsticks or candy apple sticks to about an inch with a handsaw or ask someone with a power table saw to cut down for you. You should end up with 164 pointy ends for each sleeve.
2. Once you finished cutting the sticks, it’s time to paint them! Make sure you’re in a well-ventilated area and are working on a flat surface. We suggest protecting your workspace with old magazines or newspaper.
3. Apply a layer of gold spray paint to the pointy tips. Leave them on your workspace for approximately 15 minutes or until dry. Flip them over and spray the other side.
4. Before you apply the spikes to the jacket, use white chalk to outline a rectangle on each arm, starting at the shoulder and ending at the elbow. You want it to be large enough to fit approximately 24 rows and five columns, but this will vary depending on the size of your jacket and how many spikes you want on it.
5. Space the gold spikes evenly in each row and use dabs of hot glue or super glue to secure each spike onto the jacket.
6. Wait approximately 10 minutes or until the glue is completely dry before wearing the trench.
7. Roll up the sleeves, Own it and WORK IT!!
